Signet of caputre, how does it work
Finally I have the signet of capture, but when I defeated a Boss and I use this signet. it replies at me that this boss isn't one of the type I am.
So I have used a slot for this signet for nothing. Is there anywhere on this forum a list with all the bosses and their types, so you can see what boss is right for you to use the signet of capture? |

Pretty much the only sites u need for find the Elite skils are GW Wiki or Xennon both of these sites provide u with all the info on who has what elite skill and a map of where the boss is located. I prefer the wiki to the xennon site.

You can only use the signet of capture on bosses that are your Primary or Secondary professions.
Don't waste it on a non-elite skill, because the only way to get elites is by capping them from bosses. All other skills you can get from skill trainers somewhere along the way. |

Ok that is true, but I want to know wich bosses are for my profession.
I am a Monk assasin so It would be handy to know when I need to use this signet. |

You can check the Guild Wiki - http://guildwiki.org - for a list of bosses organized by profession, or just look at what skills the boss use.

Also, instead of looking up specific elites or bosses, you can look up an area and there'll be an 'Elite skill capture' section towards the end of the page. It's just easier that way, as you can check before you leave the outpost and get all the cap sigs you need.

hope that helps. Click on the Elite Skill you want, and it will come up with Info and the boss name(s) then click the boss name and it will come up with info about the boss and where to find him. Last edited by onerabbit; Jun 08, 2007 at 10:12 AM // 10:12.. |

Just go to Wiki, in the search block on the left of the screen type the area you are going to be in and click search. That should give you a page with everything you want to know about that area.

I don't believe there are any bosses in Tyria that use an elite nearby when you get the Signet of Caprure quest. If you're trying to complete the quest, just cap a regular skill from your boss and collect the reward.

There is a reason (especially in tyria) to use a skill cap for a non-elite. Some skills (such as barbs) can be capped a great deal sooner than you can buy them (unless you use balth faction to unlock them)

Hmm, not all skills are available via Faction's skill trainer's early in the game. so if you've just gotten off the newbie island and gone straight for working through Prophecies... there are definitely some skills that can be captured using a SoC that you won't have access to via a skill trainer yet. (unless you've unlocked it with another char or pvp char..)
I know for a few of my chars this has definitely been the case - Canthan chars going through Prophecies 1st.. I've used a few SoC to unlock non-elites because they are not unlocked on my account, don't feel like PvP'ing for them and don't want to wait till I can get to Ember Light, Grotto, etc to get the skills unlocked for me.
